“Oh dear, this is terrible!” I gasped in alarm. And I must admit I was also embarrassed to be found with such cheap glasses. I mean, the paint was peeling off! I die.
To make a long story short, I ended up buying new frames from that shop. The brand I got is Levi’s Lady’s Style. Yeah, who knew Levi’s made glasses? And I forked over a little less than PHP 7000 (USD 143). That was my Christmas shopping money!I really ought to have bought my eyeglasses from Zenni Optical, as I had originally planned (well, Plan B at least), since the Chicago Tribune said that we’re overpaying for our frames and that inexpensive but good-quality glasses can be found as long as we know where to look. They report that Americans spend USD 28 billion on eyeglasses annually. Wow! So that’s why Aida, my best friend, went into the eye care industry!
Ugh, I resent having to pay so much for glasses (and lenses, and the eye exam).

Girl, you oughta wear your glasses! I used to not wear them because of that phrase "Men seldom make passes at girls who wear glasses" but I kept falling and bumping into things! Good thing the hubby thinks glasses are a turn-on =)
