The Duchess of Cambridge is undoubtedly this year's most immaculately styled women, according to Harper's Bazaar and People, among a host of other magazines all over the world. Not only was she talked about in a HUGE way (I don't think anyone can challenge the debut of her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding gown to 2 billion people), her fairy-tale ascent from high-street shopper to royal style icon is a joy to watch.
The duchess was spotted at a Boots shop a few months ago stocking up on the day cream. A friend of the princess told People magazine, "[Kate] has never been afraid of a bargain. NIVEA Visage Day Cream is now a real favorite with her. She's been buying it for some time."
Ooh. She's really into this People's Princess chuvaloo-loo! Bobbi Brown for her makeup and NIVEA for her skin care! Zara, Dorothy Perkins and Topshop for her clothes! And she does her own groceries, too!Well, I read somewhere that the Palace is allowing this "we're real people, too!" phase for a year but that the Queen expects her grandson and his new wife to get down to business soon--make babies, support charities, cut ribbons, and all that royal stuff. Well, good luck, Wills and Kate!
Anyway, I hope you join my little contest. It's just my way of saying that all style icons know that the best accessory is beautiful skin. So eat healthy, exercise, drink water, put moisturizer and sunscreen, avoid the sun and be happy! All your clothes will look great against glowing skin!
How to win Catherine's beauty secret? Just leave a comment and tell me your favorite Kate dress! I'll announce the winner next Monday and will send the prize to the lucky reader for free!

Her wedding dress of course! :) does that count? :)
ReplyDeleteIf not, well, I'd pick The Reiss " Shola" dress -- the one she wore when she and Wills met the Obamas. That beige dress is clean, classic, simple, and very elegant! And it's something I think we, uhmm, commoners can all wear... Doesnt scream "Im royal, you're not!" :)
Hi Frances! My favorite Kate dress is the blue jersey Issa wrap dress because it perfectly matched her blue sapphire engagement ring!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite Kate dress is the one she wore for her wedding reception. Since I'm a no-frills kind of girl too, I love how simple and chic it is considering that it's a gown bespoke for a princess. Her reception ball dress automatically made it to my wedding gown pegs, being that I don't want my future wedding gown to be overly studded with beads and all those sparkly stuff!
ReplyDeleteHello! My favorite Kate dress is her wedding gown. :-)
ReplyDeleteAt the time of her April royal wedding, my own lace wedding gown for my June wedding was being finalized. I somehow got kilig that my preferred material for the top of my gown, which my designer and I conceptualized on January, was Kate's taste too.
Hi Frances. I've won a giveaway in your blog before and I might win again because I'm also a Scorpie. ;) I love Duchess Kate and my favorite Kate Middleton dress so far is the pale aqua Amanda Wakeley gown she wore on her first solo royal engagement. :) Advance happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteI love the Alexander McQueen gown that Duchess Catherine wore at a BAFTA event when the royal couple visited the US. It's so simple and elegant compared to the outfits of other Hollywood stars but still Kate stands out.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Kate dress have to be the navy blue one, the one she wore during the announcement of their engagement. It matched her ring perfectly. It was so simple yet elegant. Fit for the simple yet elegant duchess. :)

I love the sailor style cream pencil dress by Sarah Burton for McQueen she wore to Prince Edward Island on their royal tour of Canada. Simple and classic! :)

ReplyDeleteHello! Aside from her wedding gown, I love her simple yet very elegant dress of Malene Birger that she wore in Canada last June. No frills but she still looked classy and real princess! Advance happy 35th! May your wishes and more come true!
ReplyDeleteI was used to seeing Kate in subdued classic but elegant dresses, but the pink sequined Jenny Packham gown she wore made her look every inch of a Princess (even if she already is). It's definitely pink and pretty. :)

My fave dress would be the red dress with a romantic history that Duchess Kate wore at a charity evening in St. James' Palace on October 13. The Dress literally looked truly romantic and has a very interesting history!

ReplyDeleteI love her dresses! But if I were to pick one, it would be her Moraiah white dress from Temperly London that she wore in Wimbledon. I feel like I can wear the dress even in our country. I also love the pleated details :)
ReplyDeleteI like her wedding dress. It's not as extravagant as I imagined it would be but still... I'm a person who's a sucker of laces. :)So, I'll cast my vote to that simple looking dress. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the lilac chiffon gown that she wore for the BAFTA Brits to Watch event. She really showed off her slim figure in that dress with her brown hair down and a very glowing beautiful skin by nivea.
ReplyDeleteCatherine or Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge is a stunning style icon. Whether she wears a simple white dress or an exquisite colored dress, she is really a model of beauty and elegance. I’ve seen all her dresses and what I liked most is the one she wore during the BAFTA Brits to Watch Event. It was a lilac Alexandra McQueen dress that perfectly fitted her bodice. The dress was plain but it made her more genteel. I loved it!

ReplyDeleteHi Frances! I just love everything about Kate and is very happy that OK! Magazine has featured her twice already (I have both copies haha! The Wedding Special and this one on the Royal Style Icon).
ReplyDeleteIt's so difficult to choose which one is my favorite because everything just look good on her. But okey, if there's one dress that immediately made an impact on me it would be the Alexander McQueen lavender silk dress - she looked like a goddess there. Simply stunning!
I personally love the Wedding dress. It made me relive my childhood belief of fairy tales and the likes! She looked stunning and glowing in that gown!
ReplyDeleteIt has the essence of Victorian (the padded hip, cinched-in waist and all the hand-work on the lace of the dress) but cut in the modern way. It was incredibly beautiful and intricately worked! A magnum opus!
I love the flowing lilac McQueen gown because Kate looks so elegant and it fits well to her royal personality.. love it! =)
ReplyDeleteHi Frances!
ReplyDeleteMy Favorite dress of kate is Amanda Wakeley Sculpted Felt Long Sleeved dress which she purchased for £450 at the designer’s Fulham Road
store, and of course, she teamed the dress with her favourite pair of
LK Bennett heels. Perfectly fitted to her body! I realy like that dress!
I superlike the Alexander McQueen lavender silk dress! Simply stunning Princess!
ReplyDeleteHi! Nivea's a constant on my dresser too :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite dress of hers is the Jenny Packham gown which you had also chosen for your cover!
Kates style is very elegant, something which has been missing from todays society of mix and match, ripped jeans, baggy jumpers and throw on anything culture. She's really a breath of fresh air in our current fashion trends. She's a true fashion icon that shows girls all over the world that simplicity, natural beauty and modest dressing is the way to go.My favorite dress was made by Amanda Wakeley,it was a stunning floor-length light aqua-coloured evening gown, with flowing grecian-style pleated material.Kate wore this when she attended her first solo event as a member of the royal family at Clarence House for the prince of Wales Charity.I love this dress because it was elegant and at the same time provoke a seductive allure fitted for a queen! So love it!
ReplyDeleteThe summery yellow dress by Jenny Packham was a dream! She wore it in Calgary on July 7, 2011. It showed the Duchess's soft side which was perfect for her meet-up with the six-year-old cancer patient which was simply heartwarming. Just like her dress!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the lilac Alexander McQueen gown she wore to the British Academy of Film and Television Arts event in LA. With her lovely royal curls, she looks like she just stepped out of a fairy tale book with the lilac gown. She looks every inch a royal beauty and the design just suits her abso-bloody-lutely perfect.
ReplyDeleteShe doesn't look stiff, too formal, too overbearing with that gown. She truly dresses and acts like a People's Princess. And this Alexander McQueen gown says it all. It's free flowing and soft and it sashays with her every move, too. Best of all, it's lilac or light purple, a color that connotes royalty.
My favorite is her wedding gown. 'Coz it's the easiest to remember and the easiest to describe. Hihi ; )

My favorite Kate dress is her wedding gown. I'm married (civil wedding) and planning to have my church wedding in 2013. I want a wedding gown like hers, gorgeous and elegant.
ReplyDeleteThe Blue Issa London dress that she wore in her first public appearance after their engagement is what I like the best.
