We love breakfast!

My family and I just came from a breakfast food trip in Tagaytay (click here for Vince's blog post about it). Ohhh, we're so stuffed! I'm still dreaming about our breakfasts! Then after that breakfast-heavy trip, I had a lovely brunch with a dear friend. Can you tell I like breakfast?

Actually, I like breakfast food but I do not eat breakfast in the morning. I have slept late for as long as I can remember. Therefore I wake up late, so my first meal of the day is almost always lunch. That wasn't so bad actually since my last meal back then was around midnight, I slept at 3 a.m., woke up at 10 and ate at 12 noon. So my lunch was actually breakfast!

But now that I'm a mom, I wake up early (7 a.m. at the latest). I find it weird to eat when the sun's not high. So I usually just drown myself in coffee or tea. This is really bad. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!

As you all know by now, breakfast is actually a compound word. Break + Fast. Fast means not slow haha. Joke joke! A fast means not eating food for a long period. The hours between dinner and breakfast is usually around 8-12 hours. When you wake up, your body is starved for energy. Hence, the need to eat good food.

It's really a good idea to feed your body because not only do your brain and muscles get nourished, you also get in a better mood. Hindi ka kasi gutom. Pag gutom, masungit, mainit ulo, mabagal mag-isip, ano pa? Basta in my experience, hungry people are not nice people. Believe me, I've worked with a lot of people on diets. Maybe if we all ate breakfast, life would be better. For example, morning traffic jams would not exist. Guys, I think I just discovered the secret to world peace!!!

My favorite breakfast food now is hotcakes slathered in butter and floating in thick syrup. It's a good thing I don't cook hotcakes—I just order them from McDonald's every now and then. When I want to be healthy, I have toast with runny eggs. I also like tapsilog and tocilog. Yum! I also love a peanut butter-and-guava jelly sandwich (Lily's oily peanut butter forever!). This was a recent breakfast on my table:

Vince loved it! And you know what they say about the way to a man's heart! Yes, it's breakfast. Make him happy in the morning and he'll love you all day!

  1. I love this post (and it made me hungry too). I agree on two things: that the way to a man's heart is through a (breakfast) meal. Back when I was in a relationship, I look forward to weekends because I get to cook breakfast for him.

But now that I am working a normal time of day, I get to eat breakfast twice; before leaving the house at 5 am and when I'm in the office at 8 am.

Reading the characteristics ng taong masungit...I can't help but smile at it because I once posted it as a Facebook status. Na kaya masungit ang tao ay because of two reasons -- hindi siya nag breakfast or wala siyang lovelife. :-p

    1. Kaya mag-breakfast na lang tayong lahat! Mahirap ipilit ang love life!

  2. I miss Lily's! The peanut butter here is not as runny! I want my peanut butter runny and Lily's!

    1. Me too! So even if mas sosyal ang other PBs, I still get Lily's =D

Thanks for dropping by my blog! It really means a lot that you spare the time to read... and comment!
