Black bedroom ideas for boys

Well, mamas, it has come to this. My sons have decided that they no longer like their navy-and-white striped bedroom and now want a black bedroom. Two things are making us (the parents) say no: (1) we're in the Philippines so it's hot, and (2) their room is tiny so black will make it feel oppressive. So I turned to the internet for some black bedroom ideas for boys and, mamas, I may be wrong!

Just look at these gorgeous ideas for a black bedroom for teen boys! Plus, I'll share the design tips I got from each room.

Balance out the heavy black with white everything! White sheets, white lamps, white furniture, white art!

Use a bright, contrasting color to break up the boring black-and-white color scheme!

We can also paint patterns or blocks of black, white, and gray. My kids might actually like this idea because they're artistic and would be excited at the freedom of designing their walls.

And if I really am leery of going all black, we can just try some cool wallpaper!

Anyway! One project at a time! Yes, we're fixing up the house. We've done the living room. We're working on the dining area next. Then the hallways. Then the boys' bedroom. I dunno if we can do all that this summer. Wish us luck!
