And today's dose of excruciating melodrama is brought to you by Star Cinema

I don't watch Pinoy movies in theaters because my job is spent watching Hollywood movies. I don't even have enough time to watch Hollywood movies so obviously I have zero time for local films. But sometimes, when it's very late at night, I switch on Cinema One and watch old Pinoy movies. My favorite discovery is 1984's May Lamok sa Loob ng Kulambo starring incredibly sexy and super funny stars Eddie Garcia, Gloria Diaz and Amy Austria. You have to watch it!

So anyway the other day, I saw the trailer for a new movie called No Other Woman. I looked up the full trailer because I wanted to see if Anne's makeup was really that bad. Yes. It is. Such a shame. She's such a pretty girl!

Winnur!

And so very true. Noong una, I thought it was heartbreak I was feeling but upon further investigation and finding out who the girl is and what she's like, I realized that no self-respecting woman would take another woman's man. In Pinoy movie parlance, puta lang yon and do you really want to go down to her level? It's really just as simple as that. Once you realize that, it's pity you feel for her.

As for your man, well, no real man would cheat on his girl. A real man keeps his word. So if your guy cheats on you, iwanan ang gago. You deserve better! Happy weekend!

  3. I just remembered a conversation you, Mia, and I had at an event! Hahaha. Maybe watching this might not be such a good idea after all because I tend to get affected when it's movies about cheating. Gusto kong sabunutan yung mga puta! Haha

"Panahon na para i pack up mo yang Lucy Torres mo! Ilabas mo na diyan si Gretchen Barretto! Anak, ako na ang bahala sa red stilettos mo!"

  6. "I realized that no self-respecting woman would take another woman's man." I so agree. Love na kung love, but there's got to be a limit to when you can use "love" as an excuse, diba?

And Anne Curtis's make-up really is such a shame. It's like they want the viewers to not like her because she is the "other woman." As usual, Philippine cinema spoon-feeding the audience. LOL.

  10. I love it! Tama Ms. Frances, mas mabuting ilabas ang Gretchen Barreto at itago muna ang Lucy Torres. :) May red stilletos ba tayo dyan? :))

My 3-year bf also cheated on me with another girl. At first, I was bitter but then I realized na lahat ng effort ko, di naman worth it sa mga girls na katulad niya. Mas mabuti pang humanap nalang ng iba than dwell on what's already broken :)

  11. Tisha, ano pinag-usapan natin ni Mia? All I can remember are ghost stories!

  12. Cris and Maris, diba?!

  13. Ria Hazel, haaaay. I hope naman na break na kayo Ng bf mo. But if not, I wish you all the luck in the world!

  14. May poot! I love it.

I remember one time, an ex asked what I would do if he cheated on me... I was speechless. I told him, I'll break up with you right away.

  15. Hahaha. we broke up na. He was my ex :)) Ayun, after ilang months may baby na sila and got married. If that happened to me, my dreams would be sidetracked because I'm not ready yet. Now I have a boyfriend who loves and respects me :)

She didn't looked like her age.

  17. Rae, I've been seeing that word, POOT, a lot these days. It means extreme anger or pure hatred. I have no anger or hatred for my exes or their girls so I think that word is not appropriate in my case.

What does it mean now? Why are people using it so much? I wish they didn't. It's such a horrible word with such massive negativity!

  19. love, love your post! totally can relate. nasabi ko din yung "gagawin kong lahat wag mo lang akong iwan" to a ex-bf of 10 years. Want to bang myself on the head now uggghhh!! Thank God I am happily married. Nagkatuluyan din sila nung girl who the ex-bf cheated on with me, and he used to call me whenever they had problems. wtf!

  20. I've had my dose of "other women" and I don't understand what does on on other women's mind, kasi babae din sila... Oh well, I don't like Christine but I will, of course, be TEAM WIFE here. Galit ako sa KABIT!

  22. Frances, I think it was the Ipanema event after brunch. When she was telling us about her dreams, and you told us about Vince's business trip. Haha

  23. Oh.... oh no, I didn't mean you. I meant the movie.

And yes, people do use poot lately. I take it as a slang term for bitterness na parang self-pity, like Cristine Reyes' role portrayed. Didn't know it meant anger.

Thanks for tagalog 101. I learned something new today :)

  24. Rae, ya that's why I wanted to know what it means now. So I'm a bit appalled that it's being thrown around so casually now. But that's a living language for you--meanings evolve!

  25. Ang usap usapan sa mga dressing rooms, hindi daw kinaya ni Anne ang makeup halfway through the filming so she called in her personal team to handle her hair and makeup. Alin kaya dun ang before and after? Haha! I just watched the movie earlier, and it was a pretty fun watch. Ang daming winner na lines!
