I'm thinking of an easy way to make more money

This blog has been such a blessing since I've met tons of new people. Recently, however, I've been thinking that aside from earning great friends, I'd also like to earn money! Again. Last year, I had an online shop that sold fashion and beauty products. That little venture earned me quite a lot of money. Enough money to buy really nice furniture for my new house! But I got lazy with inventory. And there are some customers that you just can't satisfy whatever you do! So I put that business on hold. But I think I'll start that again soon because the holidays are coming up and I need shopping money!

Anyway, I've been studying how to teach from home. My first job was for a website that taught Koreans English. Then for my second job, I was a preschool teacher. So I do have experience teaching. It's not easy but I enjoyed it. Now that I'm an editor, I was thinking I can teach freelance writing online. I'll take a refresher course on how to teach, of course, and then all I need is a white board, a few books, and paper!

I've been looking it up and I found this great article on why you should have a home based business.

The site lists certain advantages of having a home-based business:
1. offers an amazing level of autonomy
2. the initial investment required is typically much lower than a traditional franchise
3. has very few overhead expenses
4. a number of work at home franchise opportunities require a part-time commitment to be successful
5. provides franchisees with a great deal of flexibility in their schedules and often affords them more time to spend with their families.

Yeah, I think I can do this online teaching business! How about you? What do you do to earn extra cash?

  1. The moment I went freelance, I had more opportunities to earn extra. So in between writing, I bake and sometimes sell whatever. :-) I've been planning to sell online again since I'm in the cyberworld most of the time. Tsaka tama ka, papasok na ang Christmas and people are on spending mode again. It's time to gear up our entrepreneurial machines. :-)

  2. Hi Frances, Thank you for visiting A Second Cup. I am glad you like the template. My blog platform is squarespace.com.

The up side of Squarespace is the templates. You can change the look of your blog as easily as pushing furniture around the living room.

The downside is you can;t add things like CommentLuv or do follow/no follow for comments or the new e-card interface that lets you put paid ads through e-card on your blog. Also you have to pay to use squarespace. Not much but it is not free.

I love your writing style. I will be looking for you on e-card!

  3. I wish I had the courage and initial funds to set up an online shop! I could certainly do with the money.
I think you should give it a go again! I'd certainly buy from you, I like to buy from people I know/can trust =)

Hope you have a great weekend. x

  4. Hmmm. I made some extra cash earlier this year by writing a magazine story, but it wasn't much.

  6. Hey, Mrs. Palarca, how about sending me some of those cupcakes? I can feature them in my magazine, ya know!

Hey, Carol! Yes, your template is love. But I have to be stuck with this black background. Black screens consume less energy than the rest so I do what little I can to save Mother Earth!

Kaith, I earn money through this blog, too! There are many ways. Try reading up on Adsense, PayPerPost, SocialSpark, PayU2Blog, and more =)

Hi DaisyChain! Selling online is fun bit tricky. You never know if a prospective client's gonna pay you. At the same time, you meet so many new friends!

WendyB, was that magazine article the one for Marie Claire??? =D

  8. Nope, you'll never find any blog or website of Vince because he thinks blogging is a waste of time! And he is contractually forbidden by Seventeen magazine, a sister publication of OK! mag, to reveal his identity.

So yes I know Vince O. Teves (that's not his real name, by the way!) and I'll pass along the comment! =D He'll be embarrassed since he's very shy and still can't believe that his books are bestsellers haha
